A rivet nut / rivnut / threaded insert / insert nut is a tubular, internally threaded fastener that can be fully installed from one side of a workpiece, providing a strong load-bearing thread in thin or soft materials.

Blind Application: Installed from only one side of the material, making it perfect for hollow sections, tubes, or closed panels where the back is inaccessible.

Installation:

Drill a hole matching the outer diameter specification of your rivet nut.

Thread the rivet nut onto a dedicated rivet nut installation tool or a DIY bolt-and-nut compression rig.

Insert the nut into the pre-drilled hole. Squeeze or tighten the tool/bolt assembly to bulb and clamp the backside of the rivet nut against the material.

Unscrew the tool or installation bolt, leaving a clean, permanent thread ready for a screw or bolt.
